FIRST TRIAL MATCH TARANAKI AND NORTHLAND FIXTURE ON SATURDAY NEXT Arrangements in connection with the first interprovincial trial match, between Taranaki and Northland to be played at Carlaw Park next Saturday were finalised at Inst evening's' meeting of the Auckland Rugby Leaguo. The chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, said tho match was being controlled on, behalf of the New Zealand 'llugbyLeague, and a club game had been arranged as well for the main ground. Tho secretary, Mr. Ivan Culpan, said the Taranaki team would arrivo to-morrow morning and tho Northland team on Saturday. The rellcree for the match will bo appointed by tho New Zealand League this evening. Mr. 11. Doblc, delegate to the New Zealand Rugby League, reported that tho Lismore Country League in-.New South Wales have made an application to play a scries of matches in Auckland later in the season. Ho said the request had not come through the New South Wales League and it had been referred back to Australia suggesting that this action be taken before consideration could iDc given. .<<• Mr. L.
