MYSTERIOUS FOOTPRINTS
COMMENT BY CURATOR ENORMOUS SIZE FOR REPTILE [by TELEGIIAPU I'll ESS ASSOCIATION] WANG AN UI, Tuesday Tho strange footprints in the snow in the Taoroa district, about 20 miles from Taihape, which aro said to have puzzled Mr. J. Missen and a friend while out shooting, were referred to by Mr. C. Shepherd, curator of the Wangauui Museum. He said that up to a stage the prints resembled those of a reptile, but reptiles suqli as tho tuatara lizard have five toes on the hind foot, one being long, and in that ease the full imprint would have been left in the snow, also that of the front feet. Assuming, that tho prints were those of a reptile, it would be an enormous size to produce marks over a foot long.
