CLEARER AWARDS
DAIRY FACTORY WORK SUGGESTIONS BY COMPANY PURCHASE OF PRODUCE The suggestion that an endeavour should be made to draw up awards so that they may be definite and easily understood by the average dairy factory director is made in a remit by the Obakunc Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, which will be discussed by the National Dairy Conference to be held in Wellington toward the end of this month. Proposed awards, it is suggested, should be circulated to all dairy companies for their views. The data would be considered bv a committee consistof a qualified factory manager, a qualified dairy company secretary, and a factorv worker. The committee would be empowered to incorporate matters or delete provisions from the proposed award When completed the proposed award would go to the usual representatives and advocates. The Obakunc company also urges that the Government should purchase all dairv produce at the factory door. If this' was put into operation, the question of freight and storage would be automatically pooled by the State. Inspectors of dairy awards, it, is contended, should be qualified dairy factory secretaries or factory managers,
