HAWERA HOSPITAL CONTROL APPOINTMENT WELCOMED [by telegkaph—owx coekespondent] 'NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday Probably the only' Maori in the Dominion to sit on a hospital board, Mr. M. It. Jones, was welcomed by the chairman of the Hawera Hospital Board, Mr. A. L. Campbell, when he attended his first meeting as the representative of the Hawera Boroug Council. . . „-> Reference "was made to assistance Air. Campbell said that Mr. Jones was the first representative of the Maori race to appointed to the board during his association with it, and probably in tne board's history.
