Sir,—Now Mr. Savage lias raised the interest rate ill iiis new loan to £l/3 (3d per rent, to keep in line with lus increased interest, wotild it not be litting if lie raised the interest at the Auckland Savings Bank to the old rate of IM per cent. What a boon and a blessing this would be to hundreds of thrifty poor who have put tlieir life savings into this bank. Lne bank, would still be able to show a profit and indulge in its usual geneious gestures. . K- Clabkk. Otaika, Whangarei.
