FARMERS' DISTRESS
SUGGESTION TO GOVERNMENT The following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Papatoetoe branch of the New Zealand National Party:— "This meeting recognising that the present distress among farmers and importers is the result of inexperience on the part of the Cabinet, wo respectfully suggest that tho Government seek 5 the advice of those who, although with immense difficulty, kept the country solvent when butter-fat was 7d per lb., instead of Is. and wool was 4d, instead of 9d per lb."
