HAUTAPU DRAINAGE AREA [from our OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday The final steps toward the abolition of the South Hautapu drainage district were taken at a meeting of the Waikato. County Council to-day, when the council accepted control of the area, taking over assets valued at £92 and assuming loan liabilities totalling £955. It was stated that no drainage work had been done in the district for vears and that the council would continue to collect the rates formerly collected by the Drainage Board. The council decided to accept the proposition as put forward by the Audit Dc•partment and to' pay outstanding accounts.
