ROLLER-SKATING CONTEST AMERICANS' ROUGH TACTICS CROWD INVADES TRACK Independent Cable Service (Received May 8. 12.30 a.m.) LONDON,. May 7 Enraged at the American rough tactics, through which a number of' European competitors were injured, several thousand spectators at an international roller-skating contest at Harringay smashed the barriers, invaded the track, fought 200 stewards and officials for an hour, and did £IOO worth of damage. They cracked the track in several places, seriously assaulted a steward, stole the timekeeping apparatus and smashed the microphone. Officials managed to keep the mob from reaching the Americans' dressingroom. - c
