Clarke weighed 16st. 81b. and Blomfield 16st. 101b. Mr. J. McLean was referee. The Preliminaries A professional preliminary was contested between Rod Douglas, 13st. 81b., and Bill Mclvor, 13st. 51b. This was the latter's first appearance and he made a good showing. Douglas, however, proved too experienced, and he gained a submission fall in the fourth round with a semi-Boston crab. The amateur matches resulted as follows:—B. Freak beat L. Adams by one fall; R. Jones beat F. Webb by one fall; T. Harvey beat J. McLeod on points. Mr. F. Murphy was referee and Messrs. G. Learning and G. Heald were the judges.
