Sir—The account in the Hbraib'£■ May 2 of requests made to the Hon tp E. Parry by a deputation represent 7,00 interests, causes one to wonder!? the hardihood and persistence of tV enthusiasts. In the last three they have twice formulated rer.«J!? to be allowed to take native bird which requests have very properly been refused. a Actually the zoo authorities have nn colour of right in this matter, their wishes being directly contrarv to th« wise and humane laws enacted to ga r ! our native birds from molestation. AH bird lovers will unite in hoping 'tW the Minister will adhere firmly to bis previous decision riot to 'sanction any interference whatever with these birds which have enough enemies to contend with as it is.
