HOUSING RURAL WORKERS
GOVERNMENT'S ATTITUDE "DOING NOTHING TO ASSIST" t [fbom otnj OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Saturday "I think it is a scandal that tho Government is continually dodging its obligations to assist in housing for rural workers," said Mr. G. T. Crawley, president of the Waikato subprovincial executive of the Farmers' .Union, at a meeting of the executive to-day. ''The Government is continually urging better housing for rural workers so as to alleviate the scarcity of farm workers, and vet it is doing nothing to assist tlfe farmers in this matter." It was stated that' the Government was unwilling to assist in building houses'' for farm workers on properties mortgaged by private individuals.
