FEDERAL POLITICS
COUNTRY PARTY SPLIT
SIR E. PAGE'S FOLLOWING . f REPORTED DISSATISFACTION (Received May 5, 9.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 5 Newspapers in Sydney are directing attention to Sir Earle Page's relations with the Federal Country Party, which appear to be strained as the result of his attitude toward Mr. Menzies. The Sun this evening says: "The disintegration of the Country Party has spread more rapidly than was expected. Sir Earle Page's following has dwindled from 15 to 10, some of whom are dissatisfied with the present situation and think the only way out is to choose a new leader. It is reported that the claims of Mr. J. McEwen and Mr. A. G. Cameron are at present being discussed."
