A The WORLDS MOST Now the 1939 Hillman Minx proves its economy under New Zealand conditions. On an officially observed test run from Auckland to Invercargill, an ordinary stock model Minx averaged 48.76 miles per gallon for the whole, journey of 829 miles. All figures during the run were compiled by the Motoring Editor of the "N.Z. Standard, ' who acted as observer, and all petrol used was measured and checked by him. There was no special equipment, no "stunt driving," no free-wheeling and no coasting down hills. A good average speed was maintained throughout the test. TEST FIGURES: AUCKLAND to WELLINGTON, 453 Miles, an average of 47.7 miles per Oil consumption nil. CHRISTCHURCH to INVERCARGILL, 376 miles, an average of 50.1 miles per gallon.
