WORM IN MOQUETTE In answer to an inquirer's S.O.S. last week as to how to get rid of worm in a new moquette suite, "Genuine" (St. Heliers Bay) writes that by far the most effective way is to apply kerosene liberally to the suite with a piece of clean rag. It will not hurt the moquette in the least, and the smell very soon goes off. "I have used bottles of it, and have quite got rid of the worm after having had my suite stored for sis months," writes "Genuine." Vinegar from Grapes A correspondent has heard of grape vinegar, and wonders if it is possible to make it at home. This recipo has been used for years. One reader makes sufficient vinegar to last _ the whole season, and anyono entering her kitchen during March or April gets a decided whiff of grapes "in the process."

You need for the vinegar 21b. grapes (stems, stones and all), 2 gallons water and 2Jib. sugar. Crush the grapes (white varieties are best) in any large earthenware or glass vessel. A stone jar, an old bedroom jug, or a big glass jar of some kind, will serve the purpose. Add the water, and let it stand for a week, stirring twice a day with a wooden but never a metal spoon. Then strain off all the solid parts of the grapes, and return the liquid to tho jar. Add tho sugar now, and leave uncorked for six months. A piece of muslin over the mouth of the jar keeps out dust and insects without enclosing the vinegar tightly. Then bottle and use in the ordinary way. Request "Sally" wants to know whether wholemeal can be successfully used instead of ordinary flour as a suet crust for a steamed pudding. If anyone could supply a few pudding recipes containing wholemeal "Sally" would be grateful.
