THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE SEVERAL SHARP ADVANCES Some substantial gains were recorded 0 n the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, "'hen continued improvement in buying support resulted in a fairly rood turnover. Gains were general in all sections, one of the most prominent Jjeing a further rise in Bank of New Government loans met with higher offers, but trading was still restricted nn the available short supplies. Both the Dominion banks were lifted on sale following recent buying strength. Business was comparatively brisk among the classified industrials, and Dominion Breweries were raised subtantially i» l two transfers. Interest m woollen's was stimulated and several L ues changed hands for the first time for a considerable period. Shipping EC rip also was more active. Levels for miscellaneous Australian j New Zealand industrials alike continued to advanco. Recent strength in Colonial Sugars was reflected 111 a sharp advance on sale.
