LIBERAL PEER RESIGNS OPPOSITION FEIOM PARTY LABOUR AMENDMENT TABLED ~ * (V (Received May 4,. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 4 Lord Stanley of Alderley has resigned from the Parliamentary -Liberal Party owing to its opposition to conscription. The Labour Party has tabled an. amendment to the motion for v the second reading of the: Military Training Bill. The motion is as follows: While determined to take the necessary steps to defend the country and fulfil international obligations, it regrets that the Government in violation of its pledges has introduced a measure of conscription. The Eire High Commissioner, Mr.. J. W. Dulanty, had an interview with the Prime Minister, Mr. Chamberlain; in# regard to the question of military training and its general application.
