DERBY COLTS ADMIRAL'S WALK SURPRISES TWO THOUSAND GUINEAS FORM When Blue Peter won tho Two Thousand Guineas at Newmarket on April 26 lie was at a short price, while his. stable companion Admiral's Walk, , who was second, was at very long odds. Both arc trained by J. L. Jarvis and it would appear that the second colt's form surprised the stable. Admiral's Walk might be better in public than in private, and, as he may be an improver, it is possible that lie will give a good account of himself in the Derby. , Lord Rosebury bred Blue Peter, but Sir J. Jarvis purchased Admiral's Walk as a yearling tor 4000gns. was bred at Sledmore, and his dam, Tabaris, is hv Roi Herode. Admiral's Walk is by Hyperion, and that horse, whose oldest progeny are three, is certainly making a fine name for himself at the stud. Like Admiral's Walk, Fairstone, wiio was third, did not win as a two-year-old. Sir Abe Bailcv gave 2500gns. for Fairstone as a yearling. . J. L. Jarvis, who trains the first and second horses, is no relation to Sir J. Jarvis, who owns Admiral's Walk. If Admiral's Walk wins the Derby there will bo much rejoicing at Jarrow,.as it was Sir J. Jarvis who some months ago, in purchasing one of tho huge out-of-date Atlantic liners for breaking-up purposes at Jarrow, gave work to tho men of the town after a long period of idleness.

STRONG IN JUVENILES

R. S. BAGBY'S GROWING TEAM The Ellcrslic trainer B S. Bagby continues to add to his team, and his latest recruits are a couple of rising two-year-olds, one a bay gelding by Autonay from To Money, and the other a filly by Gascony from Silver Grey. The gelding is closely in-bred, Autopay and To Money both being by Paper Money. Bagby's stable will bo strong in two-year-olds in the new season and present indications, are that ho will have .at least ten under his charge. The juveniles he is working at present include a half-brother, by Beau I'cre. to High Caste, a colt by Phaleron Bay from Coluinba, a filly by Beau Pore from Drolalique, a fillv by Hunting Song from Wee A-gnes, and a filly by Tiderace from Aureate.
