WRESTLING BOUT
MATCH TO-MORROW EVENING BLOMFIELD OPPOSES CLARK The enthusiasm displayed at the opening wrestling bout of the season at the Auckland Town Hall on Monday augured well for the success of the attractions yet to come. Lofty Blomfleld only just managed to take the measure of Rollend Kirchmeyer, thereby qualifying to meet George ("Dazzler") Clark, the Scotsman, at the Town Hall to-morrow night. On this occasion Blomfield will be meeting a man shorter than Kirchmeyer, but only a little lighter and probably even more powerful. C'lark, who is a real Highlander, has competed at various kinds of wrestling, but it was not until he came upon the modern free-style all-in sport that he found the code that suited him best. As an all-in wrestler Clark went to the United States about 10 years ago and was ah immediate success when competing before the hardest crowds in the world to please. One after another America's leading wrestlers fell before his judicious mingling of orthodox and unorthodox wrestling. Clark is Oft in height, weighs lti'/ist and bears the unmistakable' signs of an athlete trained to the minute. In addition to the amateur preliminaries there will be a special professional contest between Rod Douglas and Bill Mclvor.
