MARRIED MAN'S OFFENCE
A married man, Thomas Simpson Balks, aged 23, labourer (Mr. Noble), pleaded not guilty, before Mr. Justice Callan in the Supreme Court yesterday, to' a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl aged 13 years three months on March 17 at Auckland. and to two alternative charges, of attempted carnal knowledge and indecent assault on the same person on the same date. After a short retirement the jury returned a verdict of guilty 011 the carnal knowledge charge. Accused was remanded for sentence.
