MAJESTIC THEATRE
RENOVATIONS COMMENCED The Majestic Theatre Trill he closed for a fortnight from Friday, June 9, to allow extensive alterations and renovations to be made throughout. Work has already been commenced inside the theatre, and the number of sessions each day lias been curtailed to enable carpenters to work during the mornings. The scheme provides for the renovation and modernisation of the entire interior, with new carpets, chairs and interior fittings, and the sound equipment and projection machinery will bo brought up-to-date. A now heating plant, and extensive neon lighting inside and outside the theatre, will also be installed. In addition, the foyer will be remodelled and luxuriously refurnished. The facade and shop fronts will be changed, giving the new Majestic an ultra-modern appearance. When it reopens it is expected to resemble the most up-to-date of American theatres.
