HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The opening meeting of the season of the Auckland Historical Society will be held to-night in tho Exhibition Room of the Art Gallery, when the Rev. G. I. Laurenson, general superintendent of the Methodist Maori Mission,, will give a lecture 011 "History as an Aid to Understanding the Present-day Maori." To-morrow afternoon the society will study developments in' Queen Street since the founding of tha city*
