A SATISFACTORY YEAR FINANCES OF THE BOARD [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TE AROHA, Thursday A satisfactory year in spite of the higher costs of wages and materials, was reported to the Thames Yallev Power Board by tho manager, Mr. R. Sprague. Tho net profit for the year was £lOlO. " The increase in the gross sales of electricity for the year was £5918," -said Mr. Sprague. "If the reductions given in April,-1938. had not applied/ the increase would have been £20.418. The connected load has been a record for any year, and it is wise not to budget for a continuance of these figures." . A comparison of tho main items of expenditure and revenue, with the estimates for each, is as follows, the estimates being in parentheses:— Expenditure. Power purchases, £55,501 (£53,000); main transmission, £11,281 (£9500); meter readers' salaries and transport, £2114 (£2350); administration, £10.794 (£11,000); interest on loans and sinking funds, £50.734 (£50,408); replacement and depreciation reserves, £10.045 (£11,250). Revenue. —Net revenue from electricity, £151,401 (£141,557); rents, £538 (£525); interest on installations, £629 {£soo).<
