CHESS WEEK

Exhibitions of simultaneous chess wore given by Mr. C. J'. Taylor, the Auckland Club's champion of last year, and Mr. R. E. Baeyertz, ex-congress player, at tho rooms of the Auckland Chess Club, as a part of Chess "Week. Each of the players had seven oppon- < puts and, while Mr. Taylor won four i games, drew two and lost one, Mr. JJaeyertz was successful i,n winning a.u except one.
