UNPLEASANT CONDITIONS MANUKAU CLUB'S RACES In cold, showery, weather the Manukau Amateur Cycling: Club continued its road racing season on Saturday. Twenty rideis contested the three continental races held. Each race was over six laps, 15 miles, and points were awarded to the First three riders to cross the line at the end of each lap. The Empire Games representative J. Brown surprisingly failed to show out in the sprints, V D Thomas being the outstanding competitor. Mills, junior rider made some willing sprints with Stonex in the B grade, while Flinkenberg wore down his rivals in the C grade, the fastest race ot the day. ■Results:— ' . i A Grade.—V. D. LYNNDALE CLUB'S EVENTS The L.vnndale Amateur Cycling Club held an 18-mile senior and a 10 1-5 mile junior race on Saturday under wet weather conditions. The' results were:— junior.— J. White, lni, 1; R. Clark, Im. 2; li. Hawke, lm, 3. Time, 32m 495. Fasteut time. J. White, »32m 40s. Senior. —A. Silcock, scr, 1: D. Margison, sm, 2; R. Owens, 3m, Time, 50m 7s. Fastest time, A. Silcock, 505 m 7s. BEACH HAVEN CLUB Members of the Beacji Haven Amateur Cycling Club held handicap races on Saturday. The seniors held an 1 S-niile event to Cuthill and back, and the juniors an eightmile time trial race. Results were:— Seniors. —J. Martensen, 1;R. Chctwynd, 2; A. Elea, 3. Time, 18m 31s. Juniors.—A. Darrington, 1; J. Prickett, '2. Time, 28m 535. EVENT AT TE PAPAPA The Northern Amateur Cycle Club held a •20-mile combined race at To Papapa on Saturday afternoon. The result was as follows; — R.
