INJURED PLAYERS FUND BENEFITS BY £3OO SYDNEY TEAM'S VISIT "The injured players' fund will bonefit to the extent of approximately £.'ioo as tho result of the matches played qgainst the Eastern Suburbs team," said tho chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, at a meeting of tho Auckland Rugby League last evening. "The visit was successful in every direction, and the Sydney players had asked that their appreciation should be expressed for tho hospitality shown by many followers of the code. The conduct of the visiting players was a credit to any code." Evidence in tho enso of a Marist forward who was ordered off in the match against the Eastern Suburbs team was taken in committee. It was subsequently announced that tho player was suspended for two playing Saturdays. Mr. Campbell added that it was the intention of tho league to view very seriously any further reports of rough play. Tho Auckland Football Association wrote regarding unfinancial players Heaving one code to join another, thus avoiding their obligations. It was decided to co-operate in the matter, provided specific cases wero brought under notice. Tho junior control board advised that its competitions would commenco next Saturday week, and that there was an incrcaso in teams in all grades. • Tho following applications for playing membership were approved:—ll.
