VIENNA BOYS' CHOIR
ARRIVAL ON MONDAY The 20 boys comprising the Vienna MozariS Boys' Choir, with their conductor, Dr.* Georg Gruber, will arrive in Auckland by the Monterey on Monday morning. They will be received by the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, and entertained at luncheon by the Rotary Club. On Monday evening the choir will give its first Auckland concert. The programme will include a musical play arranged by Dr. Gruber from the waltz melodies of Johann Strauss. This will he presented in costume and the appropriate setting. A group of gems of tho 16th century, by Nascus, Gallus, Asula and Viadana, will serve to demonstrate the excellence of the Viennese tradition in polyphonic singing. Dr. Gruber has made a specialty, during his travels, of arranging the folk songs of many countries especially for the choir, anil selections derived from Austria, Switzerland, Mexico and Ital|v will bo features of Monday's programme.
