new council member ' ' .v ; J f A by-election at Manurewa yesterday to fill a vacancy on the borough council resulted in the return of Mr. W. Boulton, who secured 195 votes, compared with 92/ obtained by Mr. R. the only other candidate. The vacancy was created bv the resigation from the council of Mr. A. W. .usliton. Comparatively little interest c as shown in the election, only 26 per enttof the persons on the municipal 11 exercising their vote.
