YACHT WAYFARER
NORFOLK ISLAND CRUISE DEPARTURE FROM RUSSELL [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WHANG AREI, Tuesday After a thorough test of their craft the crew of the Auckland yacht Wayfarer havo left Russell for Norfolk Island. On board airs Messrs. K. Reid, G. Reid, D. Rush and D. Hardy, of Auckland, and B. Black, of Napier. The Wayfarer first arrived in the Bay of Islands some weeks ago, but as a leak developed on the run up the coast the yacht was beached at Matawhi Bay and repairs to the stern carried out. At the beginning of March the Wayfarer left for Norfolk Island, but ran into a heavy easterly gale and three days after leaving was back, again in the Bay of Islands. She was beached again and further repairs carried out. During the past week the yacht haai been tested when sailing round the bay and has been proved to be sound.
