PLAYERS FROM RUGBY SOUTHERN REPRESENTATIVES MILLIKEN TO JOIN PAPAKURA [BY TELEGEAPH—PBESS ASSOCIATION]) CHHISTCiiUiiCH, Monday An All Black forward of 1937 and 1938, H. JNI. Milliken, left Christchurch for Auckland to-night to join a Kugby League Club, probably Papakura. W. K. Greer (Sunnyside, fullback), a former Canterbury three-quarter, also is to go north to join City Rovers. It is believed that the League tour to England this year is the main luro. It was confirmed in Auckland yesterday that Milliken would play in Auckland a:3 a member of the Papakura Club. Mr. E. K. Asher, secretary of the City Hovers Rugby [League Club, stated last evenins that Greer would bo playing in the lirst match commencing on April 1. Greer is reported to bo a good fullback, with a year's representative experience as a wing-three-quarter for Canterbury. He is expected to arrive in Auckland op Saturday morning. NORTHLAND CLUB'S MEETING [fbom oub own coreespondent] WHANGAREI, Monday In the report presented to the annual meeting of the Northland Rugby League the president, Mr. J. Crompton, stated that last season had been fairly successful, the standard of play being slightly better than in the proceeding seasons. It was gratifying to seo so many young players coming forward. The balance-sheet showed that £SO had been paid off tho mortgage during the year and that £••28 15s 5d was in baud at the end of tho season, as compared wilh £'29 14s 4d brought forward from the previous year. Gordon (junior); representative on New Zealmd Council, Mr. W. A. Snift. Mr. J. Staltworthy. former representative on tho council, was elected a life-member.
