WOMEN'S GOLF TOUR

A British women's golf tour of Australia and New Zealand is contemplated when sufficient funds are available. Surrey County submitted a scheme to the English Ladies' Golf Union, by which 100,000 affiliated players would contribute sixpence a year, amounting to £25,000 sterling, 10 vears' interest on which would provide funds for overseas tours. Some such measure is believed to be necessary, because of the present adverse balance-sheet and small assets. The Golf Union recognises that Dominion tours are impossible unless there is a swift improvement in finances.
