FATAL ASSAULT
SEARCH FOR ASSAILANT [by TF.LEGR.vrn —owx correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Friday Over a wide area in the South Auckland district police inquiries are still continuing in the search for the person who fatally assaulted Mr. George Kahi, a singlo Maori, aged 24, of Pukekohe. at To Kauwhata on the night of January 2S. Tho deceased was found by a taxidriver, Mr. W. A. Watson, of Massey Road, Te Kauwhata, lying on the bank at the side of the road near his garage about 11.30 p.m. on January 2-S. Severe head injuries had been inflicted on the victim, who died some days after admission to the Waikato Hospital.
