Howver, ono boy, Billy Itodgers, was urther out in the stream and was een to be in difficulties by Constable '. Fuller, who. jumped in fully lothed and brought the boy to shore ithout difficulty. It was thought at first that some hildrcn might have been trapped nder the wrecked staging, but swimlers found that all had got clear, lodgers' plight was not immediately oticed, since attention was concenrated on the somewhat amusing pectacle of the crowd on the broken oction, and it was fortunate that lonstable Fuller acted quickly.
