The Secret
Far from the noise of the city, Far from the bustle and rush, Far from the streets and the lights. Far from the crowds and the crash. Far from the houses and suburbs, And the children Working at school, Far from the dogs and their barring, But not far from a shining pool. t In a meadow filled with buttercups, Glistening with morning dew, Come follow, follow, follow, I have something to show to you. It is really dark ond mysterious, And quite unknown to Pan, I wish we could explore it, But 1 don't think anyone can. For you see, it's very tiny, And oh, so beautifully round, It is a little rabbit's hole Beneath a grassy mound. —Original by Fay Black (12).
