WANGANUI CLEARANCE BUYERS OPERATE FREELY COMPETITION WELL SPREAD [BY TKLEGItAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WANGANUI, Friday The second wool sale of the season at Wanganui was held to-day, when 24,700 bales were offered and 98 per cent sold. The wool was submitted to a full and representative bench of buyers, with every section of the trade operating freely. Bradford and German buyers were predominant, with France lending good support. America and Japan were also represented. Prices were fully up to recent sales in other centres. On the last Wanganui sale, fine and super crossbred wools were in sellers' favour. Medium and inferior qualities were £d to 2d better and in some cases more. Pieces, bellies and locks were id better and crutchings firm to $d better. Lambs' wool was £d to Id up on the previous Wanganui sale. Following is the range of prices:—
The next sale will be held at Christchurch on Friday. The limit fixed by the Wool Committee is 24,000 bales.
