ATTACHMENT ORDER
PROMINENT AMERICAN DUKE OF WINDSOR'S FRIEND / JOHANNESBURG, Feb. 17 An attachment order has been issued against the person of Charles Bedaux, Americau "efficiency" expert and friend of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The order was issued on the tion of Mr. Robert McChesney, former manager of the Bedaux Company, of Africa, to recover £2500 of the company's stock, alleged to be held by Mr. Bedaux or the company. Mr. Bedaux was released after giving Security. He is the inventor of an industrial labour-saving system widely adopted in the United States, from which he made a fortune. He had ar-
ranged a tour of the United States by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor in 1937. Labour officials said the visit would be a "potential threat to free labour and democratic government," their opposition being due to an objection to it being under the auspices of Mr. Bedaux. Owing to the strong public feeling the projected visit was abandoned.
