PALESTINE PROBLEM
SCHEME FOR ARAB STATE DISCUSSIONS IN LONDON British Wireless LONDON, Feb. 16 At a meeting of the British Government representatives and the Palestine delegation it was agreed that a committee of the conference should be set up to consider in greater detail some of the points raised regarding the McMahon correspondence.
Another meeting will be held tomorrow to discuss the first of the specific proposals of the Arab delegation, namely, that an independent Arab State should be established in Palestine.
There was also a meeting of the Jewish and United Kingdom representatives, and it is hoped it will be possible very shortly to deal in these discussions with some detailed aspects of the Palestine problem, such as immigration, land sales, and constitutional matters as they interest the Jews. .
"rMr. Malcolm Mac Donald, Colonial Secretary, in discussing the demand for an independent Arab State, advanced certain general suggestions which it was made clear were not in any way to be regarded as proposals, but were designed to show in the light of existing facts what might ba an alternative to the Arabs' claims.
The Palestine Arabs represented that the existence of an independent Arab State would not be incompatible with the security of the Jewish minority.
MORE ARABS CONDEMNED JERUSALEM, Feb. 16 A Military Court to-day sentenced to death four more Arabs charged with teri'orism.
