SOME SWEET RECIPES
Plain Toffee Put 3 cups sugar,, \ teaspoon cream of tartar, $ cup water, 1 teaspoon vinegar and 1 tablespoon butter in a saucopan. Boil without stirring until a little dropped in cold waiter hardens. Coconmt Ice Boil Z cups sugar in i cup milk for 5 or 6 minutes, add } cup coconut and boil 2 minutes longer. Beat until it creams. Colour hillf quantity with cochineal. Barley Sugar Put 3 Cups sugar, 1 cup hot water and 1 teaspoon cream of tartar in a saucepan, Do not stir, boil until, it turns to amber colour.
