Cinderella in Real Life
Modern Versions of Glass Slippers
/CINDERELLA slippers have come to stay. No /ill-glass slipper surely could vie with the latest cellophane and kid productions. Transparent as the ether, cellophane is modelled to fit the instep in Pinet's newest, of the new dance sandal. A square cork heel is another feature of this model, while delicate strappings of golden kid join the sole to the upper. Cork pops up and tops the list for soles of dance sandals. Spun glass takes the lead for delicacy and in many cases is interlaced in rainbow colourings to form the vamps of the daintiest of dance shoes. Satin and kid are allied in open toed and heeled models, and you can have the satin dyed to any shade; the kid will remain exactly the same. The high Spanish heel is popular, and some of the newest danco sandals show a wide heel strap that gives a specially snug fit, and in conjunction with a narrow instep strap and buckle makes for absolute comfort. There are delicate models fashioned entirely in' gold or silver kid. These aro as light as a feather and are much cut away; in fact, some models show more cut-away than kid! The new Persian brocades are used for other models and there are delectable bags made to match. Vivid scarlet or cerise velvet makes bag and shoes en suite, a lovely addition to the velvet gown. With the crinoline dress your dainty shoe will sparkle as it peeps out from the taffetas or lace petticoat beneath. With the slender dress you may prefer a modified version of the platform shoe, i.e., one with a hnlf-inc.h sole of cork, kid covered in gold or. silver with interlacings to match..
