DRAMATIC RESCUE
Bertie Jones, nged f>9, of Lincoln, England, the father of eight children, all under 10, is recovering in "Lincoln Cout.ty Hospital after narrowly escaping death by drowning. He was rescued I\v William John Haines and Reginald Neal, both of Lincoln, who plunged into tho swollen River William near a weir and brought him to safety.
Haines workpd his way along a beam which crosses th» weir, and jumped into the water, where he was joined by Ned. Between them they then succeeded in lifting the man on to the beam. • N
