YORKSHIRE SOCIETY
Members of the Yorkshire Society held their fortnightly social on Thursday night in the New Savoy tearooms. Dancing and cards 'were features of the evening's programme, tho winners of the Monte Carlo dance being Mrs. H. Stewart nnd Mr. A. E. Clark, and of the cards Miss D. Chapman and Mr. A. J. Edonborough. Mrs. McFerran was tho winner of the lucky number competition. The prizes wero donated by Mrs. Varian and presented by-Mrs. Staley, wife of the president. A programme was contributed to by Miss D. Franchi, who gave pianoforto solos, Mrs. Haywood, who sang, and Mr. W. Stacey, who gave humorous recitations. At the close of the function tho president, on behalf of the members, presented a gift to Mrs. Haywood as a mark of appreciation of the musical services rendered by her on many occasions.
