CADET TRAINING
HAMILTON SCHOOLBOYS FIVE DAYS IN BARRACKS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday The importance attached to the training of non-commissioned officers among school cadets has been demonstrated during tho past five days at Rugby Park, Hamilton, where 350 boys from the Hamilton Technical High School have been in barracks. The training,' which has been in the charge of Captains L. I. Day, G. U. Martin, C. F. O'Connor and Mr. F. Forster, and members of the New Zealand Permanent Staff, concluded to-day. Although the officers directed both the military and physical drill, the platoons were under the direct command of senior boys, so as to develop their sense of responsibility. The boys underwent a comprehensive scheme of training, covering physical drill, squad work, company drill and guard mounting.
