BEGINNING THE DAY

(Supplied by the Council of Christian Congregations.) Text.—Let us therefore come boldly to the. throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebr., 4; 16. Verse. — O Love, .how deep, how broad, how high. It fills the heart with ecstacy, That God, the Son of God, should take. Our mortal form, for mortals sake. Prayer.-—O God, we thank Thee for JThy throne of grace, where Thy love is ever realised by us when we draw near. Save us from the hesitation of doubt. Straighten out our paths to-day. Make Jus considerate of others' feelings. Soften the sharp words that threaten to slip off our tongues. Sweeten our deeds .with kindness. Keep us from wantonly hurting our brother man. Lead us to self-mastery. Direct our aims. Steady our hearts. Plant right loves. Rest us on the Rock of Ages in storm times. Bring us to the end with our assigned tasks well done. We thank Thee for the knowledge and promise of answered prayer. Even so, Lord Jesus, give us our needs. Amen,
