ELECTION OF OFFICERS SMALL 'HOUSE COMPETITION [by telegraph—PßESS association] , DTJNEDIN. Thursday The annual conference of the New Zealand Institute of Architects was continued' to-day. In the evening the annual dinner of the institute was held at Wain's Hotel. The conference will be concluded to-morrow. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:--President, Mr. J. M. Dawson (Wellington); honorary secretary, Mr. S. Natusch (Wellington); honorary treasurer, Mr. W. .J. McKeon (Wellington); additional councillors, Messrs. Robin Hood and R. G. Talboys ,(Taranaki-Wanganui branch), Mr. A. C. Ford (Southland). The architectural education committee, consisting of Auckland members, ws ap- ? tinted as follows:—Messrs. L. S iper, H. C, Massey, P. C. I. Crookca, R. GfeS. Beatson, R. A. Lippincott and W. H. Gumraer.

When the question of the annual grants to district branches* was considered, Mr. H. C. Massev said that Auckland in particular would appreciate an increase because of the extra work it was doing. Other branches, particularly Canterbury, were also helping students and it was only right that, greater provision should he made for them. ' It was decided that Auckland arid Canterbury should receive £ls 15s and 16 per cent of subscriptions and the others £5 5s and 15 per cent of subscriptions.
