VISIT TO SINGAPORE MANOEUVRES NEAR BASE [vuom OUR OWN oohrkspdndknt! SINGAPORE, Feb. 2 Tlie Singapore naval base is still without a fleet, or even a squadron. However, it will lie visited this month and next month bv 25 British naval vessels —three cruisers from the East indies station at Trineomalee, Ceylon, and cruisers, escort vessels, destroyers and submarines from the China station at Hongkong No large-scale combined operations with the Army and Air Force, as have been done in the past, will be carried out during the visit of the naval vessels, it is understood reliably. However. fleet manoeuvres will be carried out in the waters near the fortress of Singapore. Some of the naval vessels will pay "showing the flag' 1 visits to small Malayan ports.
