GISBORNE RAIL TRAFFIC
MORE STOCK BEING CARRIED [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] GISBORNE, Thursday The Gisborne section of railway is being more widely used for stock traffic than for many years. .Not only are sheep being brought to Gisborne from up country, but there is" also a considerable volume of traffic in the opposite direction. Many of the purchases at the Matawhero ewe fairs have been railed to Matawai and sent by road to the railhead at Taneatua en route to the Waikato. In addition, 4tore sheep have been brought down from the hill country, while large numbers of fat sheep have been conveyed to the Kaiti Freezing Works.
