Mr. 0. E. Begg, of *i)unedin, r &. turned south by the limited express last night.
Captain B. H. Edkins, of Kerikeri left for Wellington by the limited express last night.
Group-Captain L. M. Isitt, Royal New Zealand Air Force, returned to Wellington by train last night.
Mr. T. B. Ferguson, of Napier, arrived by motor-car yesterday afternoon. He is at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. J. A. Lee, Parliamentary UnderSecretary in charge of Housing, left for Wellington last night by the limited express.
Dr. Douglas W.; Guthrie, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Douglas Guthrie of Wellington, and formerly of Heme Bay, has gained the degree of F.R.C.S., London.
Dr. Julius Stone, who has been, appointed to the chair of law at Aucii> land University College, is expected to arrive at Auckland by the Rangitata from London on March 9. Professor Stone will take up his duties on March 13.
Mr. F. D. Young, a member of the Auckland staff' of the Commercial Bank of Australia, has received notice of his appointment as manager of the Hastings branch of the bank. Mr. and Mrs. Young will leave for Hawke's Bay on Monday.
Mr. W. S. Wauchop, a member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, a well-known artist and one of the two producer's for the Wellington Repertory Society,-has been appointed a member of the management committee of the National Art Gallery to succeed Mr. W. H. Gurnmer, Auckland. "2
