CRASH INTO BRIDGE
LORRY HELD BY RAILINGS [by telegraph:—own correspondent] GISBORNE, Friday Stout timbers in the side railing of the Okitu Bridge, W.ninui Beach, provented a lorry from taking a 50ft. drop in tho creek below when the vehicle crashed into the side of the bridge. Tho mishap was caused by the breaking of a spring as the lorry was approaching the bridge, and tore out a large section of the railing before coming to rest, extensively damaged in a precarious position.
