MANY SUITORS
PRETTY YOUNG GIRL T>RETTY 15-year-old Olga Bowen, daughter of an unemployed Welsh miner, who was recently a witness in a court case, has received numerous marriage proposals and offers by people who want to adopt lier. In the court case which was heard at Bridgend, Olga was alleged to have worked 105 hours a week at a Portlicawl restaurant for a wage of 7s 6d. The girl's picture appeared in several newspapers, and romantic young men have written to ask for her hand, saying they will wait until she comes of age. A police constable in England asked if lie can spend his holidays with the family, and a young soldier serving in Palestine has implored Olga to "wait for me, as I have fallen in love with your photograph." Mrs. Bowen stated that many people had offered to adopt her daughter. They had sent photographs of their homes and testimonials from neighbours to prove their honesty. Offers of employment, too, have been numerous. "We have replied to' many letters, but Olga is too young to go far from home, and we are taking no chances," remarked Mrs. Bowen.
Olga agrees with her mother, and intends to keep her love letters in order to make her "best boy friend" jealous.
