ANNIVERSARY RACES PAGEANT ON HARBOUR LOW) GALWAIY TO ATTEND FRESHENING WINDS LIKELY Postponed last Monday owing to unsuitable weather, the Anniversary Regatta will bo held on the Waitemata Harbour to-day. The original programme will be carried out without alteration. The weather forecast is for freshening north-easterly to northerly winds. The weather is likely to be fair at first, but unsettled later. The regatta, which is the major event of the year for Auckland yachtsmen and launch-owners, will be opened at 9.15 this morning by the GovernorGeneral, Viscount Gahvay. The first race will start at 9.30 and yacht events will follow at 10 or 15-minute intervals. For the 44 events 372 entries, a record, have been received. Located this year in Hobson Bay, it will be possible for the public to follow events in the regatta more closely than in the past. Good views will be obtained from the waterfront road, Point Resolution, Okahu Point and the eastern reclamation.

The Auckland Harbour Board's tug, William C. Daldy, will be the officials' boat, and will he moored in the middle of Hobson Bay. The starting point of the yacht races will be between the tug and the Point Resolution buoy, while the power-boat events will he hold further inshore. The midget sailing dinghy and the Frostbite class races will be In eld in St. Mary's Bay and the model yacht events in the Orakei Basin.

The programme will also include a naval aquatic carnival of swimming, diving and novelty events. The carnival will be hel l near the Royal Akarana Yacht Club's headquarters, and will start at two o'clock this afternoon.
