PASSENGERS STARTLED RAILWAY CARRIAGE INCIDENT [by telegraph —owx correspondent! WANGANUI, Monday Passengers in a carriage attached to a mixed train travelling from Wang.inui to Mar ton were startled when » small calibre rifio bullet pierced the window glass, narrowly missing » passenger. The incident occurred as tliß train, which leaves Wanganui shortly after 5 p.m. was approaching the Pukepapa station. The bullet penetrated the roof of the carriage. When the train arrived at Marton, the police were advised of the incident.
